Evycsa was another of the many short-lived Catalan brands of motorcycle and it was manufactured in Barcelona between 1953 and 1957. The brand had been founded by Màrius Vilaseca Roura (1917-1955) and Its workshops occupied numbers 19 and 20 on Plaça de Tetuán, barcelona. He was a former competitive motorcyclist who had decided to produce his own motorcycles and was its chief designer. He built his bikes using the Fita AMC engines from Fita, a Figueres based enterprise that produced French AMC (Ateliers de Mécanique du Centre) engines under license. The Fita-AMC 175cc, 4 stroke was the popular choice.
Vilaseca was an active member of the famous Penya Motorista Barcelona (PMB) and took part in many of their events. In June 1955, Vilaseca was on a reconnaissance for the Rally de la Costa Brava, riding one of his own machines when he suffered a rear tyre blowout at speed and crashed into a roadside barrier.

Vilaseca was rushed to hospital in Barcelona, but he sadly died from his injuries. Despite his death, the Evycsa company continued until 1957 and were declared bankrupt in 1958. Under the terms of the financial settlements, Evycsa were subsequently absorbed by Fita, who were one of the main creditors.

Fita took on the outstanding assets and the tooling etc and created MAF (Motores Articulados Fita) as a brand for marketing the Evysca based motorcycles.
