The birth of the Boar story is not very well documented but follows on from Derlan – see separate Chapter – who, in the period 1962 to 1964, worked with a partner, Estampaciones Arregui. According to the Newspaper “El Diario Vasco”, the Lube company had a surplus of 198 frames, and these were used at Talleres Basor, to build a motorcycle and so the Boar brand was born. There is little collaboration of this version of events.
The Boar was based on the Derlan 125cc, air cooled, 2 stroke engine but had a sportier performance. The frames used were narrower and had the engine mounted to give a lower centre of gravity. The exact details of the process by which the frames were obtained and used is open to some conjecture but, the final Boar built, represented the end of motorcycle production for Talleres Basor.

This Boar 125cc is in the Team Lazpiur Collection at Bergara, Gipuzkoa. Talleres Basor, when it had finished motorcycle production in 1964, went on to build clutches for use on boats.
