BH (Eibar/Vitoria-Gasteiz  1956-1962)

Beistegui Hermanos (BH) was founded in Eibar in 1909 by the three Beistegui brothers.  Initially an armaments manufacturer, they moved into bicycle production after the First World War and are still a well-known and respected cycle manufacturer. In 1959, the company relocated to Vitoria-Gasteiz, still within the Basque country.

This BH Moped is in the Team Lazpiur Collection at Bergara, Gipuzkoa.

Between 1956 and 1962, the company produced mopeds of its own design and powered by the French Mistral (based in Saint Etienne, Loire), 48cc, two stroke engines that BH manufactured under license.  These engines had a 40 mm bore and 38 mm stroke.
